While their former curator of antiquities, Marion True, was on trial in Italy for her alleged involvement in a ring dealing in illegally-excavated antiquities, the J. Paul Getty Museum concluded lengthy negotiations with Italy for the return of 40 antiquities, allegedly looted from Italy, many of which had been purchased for the Museum by True.
