Silberberg Heir's Settlement with Art Institute of Chicago
In a 2001 agreement, the Art Institute of Chicago (AIC) reached an amicable settlement with the heir of German-Jewish industrialist Max Silberberg over a Courbet in the Institute’s collection. The AIC was allowed to keep the work for an undisclosed sum.
