Italy-US Memorandum of Understanding


Extension and Amendment to the Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Italy Concerning the Imposition of Import Restrictions on Categories of Archaeological Material Representing the Pre-Classical, Classical and Imperial Roman Periods of Italy (Jan. 19, 2016).


This MOU imposes import restrictions on Italian archaeological material dating from approximately the 9th century B.C. to the 4th century A.D., including sculptures, monuments, wall paintings, decorated vessels, jewelry; weapons, armor, inscriptions on metal, and mosaics.
