Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, better known as Raphael (1483-1520), was one of the artistic giants of the High Renaissance in Italy, along with Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. The 500th Anniversary of Raphael's death is being commemorated in 2020 and this IFAR Evening program, featuring the distinguished art historian Dr.  Linda Wolk-Simon, a curator, professor, and specialist in Raphael and his School, has been organized in honor of that anniversary.

Because this is the very first "virtual" IFAR Evening, IFAR is making it available free of charge to everyone, and not just to IFAR Members/ Supporters.

We plan to record the program and post it on our website.

HOLD THE DATE for our next IFAR Evening on Tuesday, August 18 at 6:00 PM EDT:  The Ins and Outs of Art Museum Theft and Security. Our speaker is John Barelli, Ph.D., Former Chief Security Officer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and author of Stealing the Show: A History of Art and Crime in Six Thefts.

We remind you that videos of many of our previous programs are viewable on the Programs & Events page of this Website (look for the camera icon).
