Definitions

“Antiquity” means
- any object, whether movable or immovable or a part of the soil, which has been constructed, shaped, inscribed, erected, excavated or otherwise produced or modified by human agency earlier than the year 1821 A. D. and includes any part of any such object which has at any later date been added, reconstructed or restored;
- any historical monument;
- any human or animal remains of a date earlier than 1340 A. D.
“Board” means the Museums Board set up under section 5 of the Ordinance 
“Commissioner” means the Commissioner for Archaeology.
“Monument” means any building, construction, excavation, cemetery, immovable remains or immovable object produced or modified by human agency.
“Historical monument” means any monument set out in the First Schedule hereto.
“Historical site” means any area containing or believed to contain antiquities or any area associated with important historical events and set out in the Second Schedule hereto.
