Statute

Foreign Limitation Periods Act of 1984 (England)

Citation

Foreign Limitation Periods Act, 1984, c. 16 § 1 (Eng.).

Summary

This act determines when foreign statutes of limitations are applicable in English legal proceedings. In general, when foreign law is adjudicated in English courts, the foreign statute of limitations supersedes the English one. If the case implicates both foreign and English law, the foreign limitations period will control only if it is shorter than the English limitations period.
